AERA 2012
I have just returned from AERA 2012 in Vancouver, Canada. I had a wonderful time in the city and really enjoyed catching up with some colleagues and friends. I especially enjoyed making some new ones too.
I attended some wonderful sessions focused on problem-based learning, instructional technology, and learning sciences. I was very encouraged to hear people talking about the need to understand the different features of PBL and what are most important for teachers and students. This work could build from Barrows taxonomy of PBL types and the work I did on my dissertation about self-directed learning components as well as other things. This sounds like very exciting work to me! Looking forward to putting together a better research plan with my thoughts.
